Within this plan we explain our shared vision for providing services over the next four years, listing our strategic and tactical priorities and detailing how we are organised and prepared to deliver this plan.
Whilst the plan has been compiled to focus priorities over a four-year period, it will be renewed annually in order to take account of emerging issues and threats, and to reflect the changing needs of our communities. This plan provides a blueprint as to how we will measure our effectiveness, learn from our experiences, continue to transform, improve and build on our successes. Although operationally independent, this plan also aligns to the themes within the States of Guernsey's Government Work Plan and the Delivery Plan priorities of the Committee for Home Affairs. It also builds upon the work undertaken following an inspection of Bailiwick Law Enforcement by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Service.
The main focus of Law Enforcement will be maintaining the range of professional services delivered in the most effective and efficient manner. The list is quite extensive and ranges from crime investigation, border protection, and public safety, as well as provision of a 24-hour emergency response. There are also specific areas for development, including the management of the local implications of the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union, building organisational resilience in the light of Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, ensuring our approach in supporting the resourcing of the Economic and Financial Crime Bureau can satisfy international scrutiny, assist with improvements to the criminal justice system and play a leading role in the security of the islands and their communities.
There is significant legal and moral responsibility upon the shoulders of the officers and staff of Bailiwick Law Enforcement however in partnership with other agencies and with the support of the community, we will continue to deliver an effective and efficient service.
