Your Right to Information - Disclosures

  • Basic Disclosure

    • This level of check is usually required for employment and other purposes for use within the Bailiwick of Guernsey. You can apply for a Basic Disclosure in person at our office based at the New Jetty, White Rock Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays).  Please contact us for opening times.
    • You will be required to complete a form (which can be found in a drop down further down this page), and will be required to provide photographic identification, and pay a fee of £20 either by cash, cheque or debit/credit card.
    • Alternatively completed forms & certified copies of identity documents can be emailed to disclosures@guernsey.pnn.police.uk a member of the team will contact you to take a card payment over the phone.
    • The basic disclosure will be sent to the address on the form within four weeks. For further information please contact the Disclosure and Vetting Unit on (01481) 221462 or email disclosures@guernsey.pnn.police.uk
  • ACRO Police Clearance Certificate for the purpose of Visa and Immigration

    • Please read the following notes carefully if you require a Police Clearance Certificate to meet immigration/visa requirements in the following countries:
      • Australia
      • Belgium
      • Canada
      • New Zealand
      • South Africa
      • United States of America
    • In order to obtain a Police Clearance Certificate for the above named countries, you will need to apply to the ACRO Criminal Records Office.
    • Guidance notes, application forms and FAQs can be found on the ACRO website, alternatively you can contact them on 02380 479920 or customer.services@acro.pnn.police.uk
  • Other Police Clearance Certificates

    • If you require a Police Clearance Certificate for any countries not listed above, for the purposes of work, travel or immigration, then you should apply for a Guernsey Police Clearance Certificate.
    • You will be required to complete a form (which can be found in a drop down further down this page) and will be required to provide photographic identification, and pay a fee of £20 by cash, cheque or credit/debit card.
    • The certificate will be sent to the address on the form within four weeks. For further information please contact the Disclosure and Vetting Unit on (01481) 221462 or email disclosures@guernsey.pnn.police.uk

  • Overseas Criminal Records Checks

  • Subject Access Request

    • Under Section 15 of the Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2017 (the 'Law'), and Section 13 of the Data Protection (Law Enforcement and Related Matters) (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Ordinance, 2018 (the 'Ordinance') individuals can ask whether any information is held about them by an organisation, and request a copy of that information. 
    • In order to access your information held by Guernsey Police or Guernsey Border Agency (including Customs and Excise and Immigration and Nationality Services), you will need to make a request to Bailiwick of Guernsey Law Enforcement.  Please see the application form and information pamphlet, which can be found in a drop down further down this page. 
    • How to make a Subject Access Request
      • The best way to do this is by completing an application form as it gathers all of the information needed to help us respond to your request in an appropriate manner. 
      • Your application should be returned to Guernsey Law Enforcement, with proof of identity using either of the following methods: in person to the Disclosure & Vetting Service Counter at the New Jetty.
      • By post (see front of leaflet for address)
      • By email to InfoRequests@guernsey.pnn.police.uk
