Media statement on 11th July
Two specialist dogs began searching the Pleinmont headland today as part of the investigation into the disappearance of Steven Corbet.
The dogs, known as victim recovery dogs, are able to search areas of land where the terrain makes it impossible for an officer to reach.
No trace of Steven was found. The dogs will resume their search tomorrow morning.
The dogs and their handlers are based with Kent Police and the Met Police respectively - but are utilised nationwide.
We would again please ask dog walkers to avoid the area - Portelet Kiosk to the Fairy Ring -until further notice to allow the specialist dogs to focus on carrying out their task.
