Basic disclosure fee increase
A basic police check will cost £20 from 6th June 2016.
The current charge of £10 has been in place for more than eight years. Following a recent review, the price increase was determined necessary to recoup the cost of providing the service.
In total, 4,033 basic disclosures were processed last year by the Disclosure and Vetting Unit of Guernsey Police.
A basic disclosure certificate is issued to the individual and provides an account of their unspent previous convictions as determined by the spent periods specified within the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law 2002.
The Disclosure and Vetting Unit of Guernsey Police is located at the New Jetty. Previously, users were required to pay by cash or cheque, however the unit is now able to accept debit and credit cards.
